IIM Visakhapatnam inaugurates the Centre for Responsible Management Education

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) inaugurated the Centre of Responsible Management Education on Thursday. The Centre was inaugurated by Ekam Foundation managing trustee Ameeta Chatterjee , Prof Amit B Chakrabarti , and Varhad Capital Pvt Ltd founder and managing director Prasad Dahapute , in the presence of IIMV director Prof M Chandrasekhar.


Speaking on the occasion, Prasad Dahapute called for the Centre to focus on creating forward-looking policy recommendations to help the deprived sections of society. Ameeta Chatterjee further added that the Centre should champion the education of responsible managers so that they become conscious leaders and are climate-friendly and compassionate at the same time. Prof Chandrasekhar assured the gathering that the Centre will mainstream environmental, social, and governance decision-making in management education.

Prof Amit Chakrabarti, the Head of the Centre for Responsible Management Education at IIMV, mentioned that this Centre was part of the institute's commitment to the United Nations while joining the principles of responsible management education (PRME).

Through the Centre, IIM Visakhapatnam aims to catalyse change, driving innovative research, curriculum development, and outreach initiatives that promote sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical decision-making. The goal is to empower students, faculty, and practitioners alike to become champions of responsible business practices, driving positive change within their organisations and beyond.
