Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor meet CM Eknath Shinde

The Lok Sabha elections are making headlines across the country, with several parties announcing their candidates. Recently, the BJP nominated Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut as their candidate for the Lok Sabha seat.

Meanwhile, Bollywood sisters Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor met Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde.
But do you know the Kapoors have a strong Shiv Sena connection?

Yes! You read it right! In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Film historian Dilip Thakur said, " The logo of RK studio was designed by Achrekar and coloured by Balasaheb Thackeray and Raj Kapoor and the Thackeray family were very close. "

"When "Mera Naam Joker" did not impress the audience, Raj Kapoor kept a special screening for Thackeray and the two discussed how to salvage the film. " Thakur added.

On the other hand, veteran star Govinda is indeed joining the Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena. The 'Partner' actor who has had a couple of meetings with CM Eknath Shinde at his residence and the last photograph of Krishna Hegde of Shiv Sena only crystallized the fact that it is indeed going to happen.

In 2004, Govinda contested the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket and gained the reputation of a giant-slayer by defeating BJP's Ram Naik. However, he later resigned from the party and opted to take a break from politics entirely.
