Dominic West breaks his silence on the Lily James scandal and how his family handled the fallout

Dominic West recently talked about the scandal involving actress Lily James, which happened three and a half years ago. In October 2020, West and James were seen together in Rome, showing affection publicly. They were photographed sightseeing, with West kissing James' neck and later cuddling at the airport.

This incident caused a lot of media attention, especially because West has been married to Catherine FitzGerald since 2010.

The day after the photos came out, West and FitzGerald made a statement together and posed for the press outside their home, showing they were together despite the scandal.

In a new interview with The Times, West talked about what happened afterward and how it affected his family. He said it was hard, especially for his wife, Catherine, but they've found ways to laugh about it now. West mentioned, "I hesitate to speak on my wife's behalf because it is obviously horrible, particularly for her. But we do joke about it sometimes."

West explained that after the scandal, the media often said they were pretending to be together whenever they were seen out, even if they had just argued. This became funny to them. West said, "Whenever we went out together, the papers would always say we were 'putting on a show of unity'. Even if we'd just been rowing about parking the car or whatever, even if that couldn't be further from the truth."

Despite finding humor in it, West admitted it was tough for his family. He said, "It was an absurd situation. It was deeply stressful for my wife and my kids, but there were lighter moments. That was the best that came out of it, really."

Lily James, who was involved in the scandal with West, talked about the photos in May 2021, but those details aren't included here. Nevertheless, the scandal had a big impact on West's family and his public image.
