Rakul Preet Singh joins Ajay Devgn, as De De Pyaar De 2 to hit screens in May next year: see inside
It was in 2019 when Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh came together to create a rip roaring romantic comedy with De De Pyaar De, directed by Akiv Ali and backed by Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, and Bhushan Kumar. The film had an open ending, leaving the space for its sequel and now the team is ready to take the story ahead with the same characters.
Scheduled for a grand premiere on Thursday, May 1, 2025, Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are set to reprise their roles in this much-awaited film. Interestingly, the release date coincides with Maharashtra Day and International Workers’ Day.
Under the direction of Anshul Sharma, "De De Pyaar De 2" is poised to continue the story of its predecessor while introducing fresh perspectives and delightful twists. With production set to begin in June 2024, the cast and crew are gearing up to breathe life into a tale that promises laughter, love, and a range of emotions that resonate deeply with audiences. The first installment starred Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh as the leading ladies, adding to the anticipation surrounding this sequel.

Besides this, Ajay Devgn also has Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha with Neeraj Pandey where he teams up with Tabu once again. The film goes through a unique musical love story spanning across 20 years and is set between 2002 and 2023. The film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari and Saie M Manjreker in pivotal roles. The music of the film has been composed by Oscar winner MM Keeravani.
On the other hand, Rakul Preet Singh tied the knot with long time beau Jackky Bhagnani last month in Goa, and is already back to work! Apart from De De Pyaar De 2, she also has an untitled project in the pipeline, the details of which will be revealed soon.
