Sonu Sood backs Hardik Pandya amid IPL criticism; says, 'We should respect our players'

Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has lent his support to cricketer Hardik Pandya amidst criticism faced by the latter during IPL matches. Hardik Pandya, who captains Mumbai Indians, faced crowd jeering and taunting following the team's consecutive losses in the current IPL season.

Reacting to the situation, Sonu Sood took to social media to express solidarity with the all-rounder.

In a tweet, Sonu Sood emphasised the importance of respecting players who have brought pride to the nation, regardless of their performance on any given day.

His Tweet read, “We should respect our players. Players who made us proud, players who made our country proud. One day you cheer for them, next day you boo them. It’s not they, it’s us who fail. I love cricket. I love every cricketer who represents my country.

Doesn’t matter which franchise he plays for. Doesn’t matter whether he plays as a Captain or he’s the 15th man in a team. They are our Heroes”
This isn't the first time Sood has used his platform to advocate for social causes or support individuals facing challenges. He has previously voiced solidarity with various groups, including farmers and flight staff, highlighting issues that demand attention and empathy.

On the professional front, Sonu Sood is gearing up for the release of his upcoming cybercrime thriller 'Fateh', where he will share screen space with Jacqueline Fernandez.
