What is Harvest Moon?

The moon rises 50 minutes after the sunset but due to autumn equinox, harvest moon rises soon after sunset. This shift creates abundant brightness early in the evening, which was a traditional aide to farmers with harvesting of their summer-grown crops. And this is why this full moon was named Harvest Moon though the concept is attributed to native Americans.

The last time full moon coincided with Friday the 13th was on October 13, 2000, and the next time it will happen on August 13, 2049.

Why is Friday the 13th is spooky? ?
The superstition surrounding this day rose in the Middle Ages, "originating from the story of Jesus' last supper and crucifixion" in which there were 13 individuals present in the Upper Room on the 13th of Nisan Maundy Thursday, the night before his death on Good Friday .

A lot of people consider Friday and the number 13 unlucky because of the old tale, and stop any business development related activities. “It’s been estimated that $800 or $900 million is lost in business on this day because people will not fly or do business they normally would do,” a historian told the National Geographic.
