Buddha Purnima & Lunar Eclipse 2022: What is Sutak period and how will it affect you

It is Lord Buddha ’s birthday today which is also called Buddhha Purnima and this one special day for Budhhists as well as Hindus. Lord Buddhha was born on the full moon day of Vaisakh month which is why this day is known as Buddha Purnima . Today we also have the Lunar eclipse so there are many other things that ought to be kept in mind on this day. Do not forget the Sutalk period, which as per religious beliefs is an important time period. This eclipse is inauspicious in India and no religious or auspicious work is done during this period. It is very important to take care of some things amid the Sutak period .

This Lunar eclipse which is falling on Buddha Purnima, will not be visible as per some astrologers. It will have an inauspicious effect if any religious activity takes place during this period.

Varna Yog will remain till 6:16 am.

Parigha yog will be there from May 16 morning to 2:30 pm.

Do not do these things during Sutak time:

Do not touch the idols of God.
Do not touch the Tulsi plant.
Meditate during the eclipse period
The rules of Sutak period do not apply to pregnant women ,kids, elderly people and sick people.
Donate food grain and money to the needy today.
After the eclipse ends, sprinkle Gangajal all over the house.

The first lunar eclipse of the year will also be visible in South-West Asia, Africa, South-Western Europe, most parts of the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, North America, South America, Atlantic and Antarctica.

This lunar eclipse will not be visible in India, so the good news is that due to thai reason the Sutak period will not be valid in the country. Doing charity and charity after bathing on Buddha Purnima is considered virtuous.
