Navratri 2020: Goddess Chandraghanta, the third form of Durga and the colour of the day

Navratri is celebrated with much pomp and show and to mark the third day of the festival, devotees worship Goddess Chandraghanta . She is the third avatar of Nava Durga and is celebrated this year, on October 19.

Known as the Goddess of spiritual and internal power, Chandraghanta sets her true devotees free from any severe obstacles or enemies.

Lord Shiva is said to adorn his wife Parvati’s forehead with Chandan to make a Chandra. Thus, Goddess Chandraghanta came to be known for this reason. Aside from that, Goddess Parvati in an attempt to save her parents from Lord Shiva’s terrorising form took the avatar of Chandraghanta Devi.

The Goddess’ true devotees are said to be given divine energy that helps them to succeed in life. Even if she is the destroyer of evil spirits and powers, she will always remain a loving anf compassionate Devi to her devotees. According to Hindu mythology, during her battle with monsters and demons, her bell ringed a horrible and ferocious sound and thus, her name came into being.

Powerful and with an ever-ready posture to fight, Goddess Chandraghanta blesses her devotees to live in peace and prosperity. The people also acquire divine vision and blessings.
