Navratri 2020: Goddess Kushmanda, the fourth form of Durga and the colour of the day

As the preparations for Navratri are in full swing, devotees have turned to worship Goddess Kushmanda , the fourth avatar of Maa Durga on October 20, this year.

Devi Kushmanda is said to end all darkness in the universe with only her divine, and beautiful smile . Her name Kushmanda resonates the entire process- Ku means little, Ushma means energy and Anda means the cosmic egg, which is said to be the universe.

She is said to reside in the centre of the Sun, to liberate energy to the universe. Devotees say that she is as radiant as the Sun and can protect everyone with her healing powers. Riding a lioness, she can be seen holding various props in her eight hands like Kamandal, Dhanush, Bada and Kamal in the right hands and Amrit Kalash, Jap Mala, Gada and Chakra in the other hands.

Hindu scriptures have said that the earth, sun, stars, galaxies were brought into being by Goddess Kushmanda. She centred herself and became the sun and the origin of energy and life. Her smile was a divine force and solely from that, energy radiated whenever anyone was in need of it.

Maa Kushmanda existence is the proof of energy, serenity and peace. Her true devotees will get great respect, fame and glory. She is the ideal symbolism of beauty and bravery and she exterminates all negativity and evil presence in your life.

This colour signifies good health, wealth and prosperity. This colour is also parallel to worshipping Goddess Kushmanda on the fourth day of Navratri.
