The auspicious days of Navratri have begun and everyone will be dedicating the next nine days to the power of our goddesses. Navratri puja have its own rules and regulations but there is one most important thing that one must recite are the mantras. Goddess Parvati , Kali, Shailputri or Chandraghanta, all the forms of this divine power have a individual characterstic that guide us through this life's journey. So, here are the nine forms of devi and the mantras that you need to recite for them:

Devi Shailputri
Goddess Shailputri is the daughter of the mountains and is the absolute form of mother nature. Also known as Sati, Parvati and Hemavati, mata Shailputri mantra is - ॐ देवी शैलपुत्र्यै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ शैलपुत्री रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:॥

Devi Brahmacharini
Brahmacharini means a devoted female student who lives in an ashram with her Guru along with other students. She wears white clothes, holds a japa mala in her right hand and a kamandal in her left hand, and blesses with success, wisdom and knowledge. She is the unmarried form of Goddess Parvati who was born at the home of Daksha Prajapati.
ॐ देवी ब्रह्मचारिणी नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।

Devi Chandraghanta
Goddess Chandraghanta is the married form the Goddess Parvati who mounts on the tigress and is depicted with 10 hands. This form of Goddess Parvati is peaceful and for the welfare of her devotees. In this form Goddess Chandraghanta is ready for the war with all her weapons. It is believed that the sound of the moon-bell on her forehead expel all type of spirits away from her devotees.
ॐ देवी चन्द्रघण्टायै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ चन्द्रघण्टा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥




Devi Kushmanda
Kushmanda is a Hindu goddess, credited with creating the world with her divine smile. Ku means "a little", Ushma means "warmth" or "energy" and Anda means "cosmic egg".
मां कूष्माण्डा- नवरात्रि का चौथा दिन
ॐ देवी कूष्माण्डायै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ कूष्माण्डा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Devi Skandmata
Skandamātā is four-armed and rides on a lion. She carries a lotus, a water material and a bell. It is believed that she awards devotees with salvation, power, prosperity and treasures.
ॐ देवी स्कन्दमातायै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ स्कन्दमाता रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥




Devi Katyayani
To destroy demon Mahishasura, Goddess Parvati took the form of Goddess Katyayani. It was the most violent form of Goddess Parvati. Goddess Katyayani rides on the magnificent lion and depicted with four hands.
ॐ देवी कात्यायन्यै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ कात्यायनी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Devi Kalratri
When the Goddess Parvati removed outer golden skin to kill demons named Shumbha and Nishumbha, She was known as Goddess Kalratri. Kalratri is the fiercest and one of the most ferocious form of Goddess Parvati. She blesses her devotees with Abhaya and Varada Mudras.
ॐ देवी कालरात्र्यै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ कालरात्रि रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Devi Mahagauri
When goddess Shailputri was young, she was very beautiful and had an extremely fair complexion. That avatar is known as Mahagauri. She adorns white clothes only and due to that She is also known as Shwetambardhara.
ॐ देवी महागौर्यै नमः॥
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ महागौरी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥



Devi Siddhidatri
It is believed that Goddess Adi-Parashakti had no form. The supreme Goddess of Power, Adi-Parashakti, appeared in the form of Siddhidatri from the left half of Lord Shiva. She is the Goddess who possesses and bestows all type of Siddhis to her devotees. Even Lord Shiva got all Siddhis by grace of Goddess Siddhidatri.

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ सिद्धिदात्री रूपेण संस्थिता।
