Watch Black Lotus, an interpretive dance production based on Zen

Watch out for the dance production put up by the Martiya Dance Community named Black Lotus , on July 13 at Vyoma ArtSpace & Studio Theatre. The production is directed by Kavya Viswanathan. The production uses stories from our every day lives that we don’t have the time to stop and think about, it being an attempt to reflect on the mundane, which could actually teach the audience about “being human”.

The name for the performance is in reference to the old Zen saying “May we exist in muddy water with purity, like a lotus”, on how the urban lot are existing alright, but are marred by the toxins of modern decadence, like the Black Lotus. The production will also see the artist playing a variety of instruments like Kalimba, Jembe, Flute & Ukelele for each other as they dance and act.
