Observed on the third tithi of shukla paksha in the month of Vaisakha, Akshya Tritiya is considered to be one of the most auspicious occasions according to the Hindu calendar . It is considered auspicious to buy gold on this day or invest in new beginnings because if folklore are to be believed, on this day, Lord Vishnu incarnated in human form on earth.



A lot of people also like to make donations on this day as any kind of human service on Akshay Tritiya returns in favour with wealth and prosperity.

But as you stay excited and make preparations for this day, here is a list of things you must do and things you must avoid doing on this auspicious day. Take a note.

Things you must do:

Buy gold: Since gold is a pure and precious metal, it is considered to buy gold on this day. Buying gold on this day adds to your prosperity and wealth. Marking as the beginning or addition to your wealthy life, this deed stay important.

Make a significant investment: Just like buying gold, making a significant investment is also considered good - be it buying a car, starting an investment plan for your kid or starting a new venture.

Buying a house: If you are planning to invest in a property, this is the best day to start. Most of the builders offer huge discounts on Akshaya Tritya and it makes for a perfect auspicious occasion to buy a house.

Don'ts

The sacred thread: It is advisable to not wear the Hindu sacred thread on this day, it is considered a bad luck. Also, if you are planning to hold the sacred thread ceremony for a Hindu boy, do not plan it for this day. This day is not auspicious for performing this ceremony.

Do not break fasts: if you are observing a fast for a considerable amount of time, do not break it on this day. Breaking a fast on this day is considered bad luck.
