16 injured as TNSTC bus overturns in Dindigul

DINDIGUL: As many as 16 people suffered injuries when a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus overturned and fell into a gorge in Dindigul district on Tuesday morning. The accident happened on the Sirumalai Ghat Road due to poor visibility caused by heavy mist.

The bus was going to Sirumalai from Dindigul.

It left Dindigul around 5.15am. When the bus was crossing the 18th hairpin bend, heavy mist, fog and rain hindered visibility. So, the driver lost control and the bus overturned and fell into the nearby gorge. Sixteen people, including the driver Vijayakumar, conductor Sekar and passengers sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to Dindigul MCH.
