BJP ire at Cong MLA Abbayya

Hubballi: BJP workers in the Hubballi-Dharwad East assembly constituency held a dharana alleging nepotism and corruption by Congress MLA Prasad Abbayya here on Tuesday.

Prabhu Navalgundmath, the president of the HD East Assembly BJP unit, said Abbayya was involved in corruption on development issues. BJP leader Venkatesh Mestri alleged that Abbayya was collecting commission through his brother, who is in the HDMC.

“Houses were allotted to beneficiaries in Sonia Gandhi Nagar, SM Krishna Nagar during the tenure of the BJP MLA but Abbayya is collecting bribes from beneficiaries through agents,” he alleged.

Former MLA Veerabhadrappa Halaharvi and other leaders alleged that road construction, drainage, Smart City projects are taken up by the BJP government. “Abbayya is claiming credit for the works,” a leader said.
