IPL 2024, CSK vs SRH Preview: Chennai Super Kings look to reclaim winning form against Sunrisers Hyderabad

NEW DELHI: After facing consecutive defeats at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants , defending champions Chennai Super Kings are eager to reignite their winning momentum as they lock horns with a resilient Sunrisers Hyderabad in their upcoming Indian Premier League clash.

CSK's campaign began on a promising note under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad , but recent setbacks have seen them slip to fifth place in the standings, tied with eight points alongside Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans.
With the race to the playoffs intensifying, CSK are determined to rediscover their winning formula.

In their quest for redemption, CSK will face SRH, currently ranked third, despite suffering a setback against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous encounter.

While CSK's batting has revolved around skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and the consistent Shivam Dube, the inconsistency in the top order remains a concern. The struggles of Rachin Ravindra and Dary Mitchell have prompted CSK to tinker with their batting lineup.

On the bowling front, CSK's spinners faced difficulties coping with the dew factor in their recent clash against LSG, allowing the visitors to capitalize on favorable conditions. Despite the efforts of the pacers, CSK's bowlers faced challenges due to misfields and the unexpected dew.

In contrast, SRH's batting lineup, led by their aggressive approach, faltered against RCB, prompting head coach Daniel Vettori to reassess their strategy for the second innings. While there might not be changes in the batting order, Aiden Markram's contribution becomes crucial after recent low scores.

In the bowling department, SRH rely heavily on Bhuvneshwar Kumar's experience, although his recent form raises concerns. The inclusion of pace options like Umran Malik and Fazalhaq Farooqi could offer SRH added firepower.

With both teams eyeing a return to winning ways, CSK and SRH will remain vigilant of the unpredictable dew factor and aim to capitalize on their strengths to secure a vital victory in the IPL.
