Mumbai Indians just don't seem to be holding onto anything: AB de Villiers

NEW DELHI: In response to the Mumbai Indians ' (MI) performance in the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) 2024, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers stated that Hardik Pandya 's team is having a terrible season.

De Villiers stated that the Mumbai-based team must win its next five games in a row in a video posted to his official YouTube page.
He went on to say that MI remains the best squad in IPL.

"They just don't seem to be holding onto anything. Everything is going wrong. But they are still in it and probably need to win five out of their last six games. They have done this before and it's just about gelling together. Possibly on paper the best team in the IPL," De Villiers said.

On Monday, MI lost to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by nine wickets in their last IPL 2024 match.

Currently, Hardik Panyda-led Mumbai Indians are at the eighth spot with six points after winning three of eight matches with a net run rate of -0.227.

In their upcoming match, MI will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
