Travis Head feels 'nice to get it done' for Sunrisers Hyderabad

NEW DELHI: Sunrisers Hyderabad 's star opener Travis Head expressed his satisfaction at delivering for the team as they clinched a commanding ten-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants .

The hosts achieved a record-breaking chase, reaching the target of 166 in just 9.4 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday night.

Head showcased a breathtaking display of cricket, smashing a scintillating half-century off just 16 balls. His unbeaten innings of 89 runs came off a mere 33 deliveries, steering his team to a comprehensive win.

"A lot of fun, Abhi ( Abhishek Sharma ) and I have had good partnerships. It was nice to get it done. Very very good fun," Head said after the match.

"Just concentrating harder, trying to get into good positions. We got ahead of the rate and thought it was a great opportunity to maximise that. [Some of his shots vs spin] Something I have been working on with spin, something I have been working hard on. It will be a big part of the Caribbean. Nice to get 360 and get to the parts of the ground I have not been to."

The opening duo of SRH, Travis and Abhishek , set the stage on fire by plundering 107 runs during the powerplay, a stark contrast to LSG's mere 27 runs.

This dominant display in the initial overs proved to be decisive in the outcome of the match. Abhishek also played a crucial role in the victory, remaining unbeaten with a rapid-fire 75 runs off just 28 balls.

Travis commended Abhishek's adeptness in playing spin and praised the young Indian batter for his contribution to their partnership. Their formidable alliance laid the foundation for Sunrisers Hyderabad's emphatic victory.

"Beautiful for him to get a score. He missed out in the last few. His spin game is something else. We complement each other so well."

Asked about Net Run Rate (NRR) being the factor, Head said, "We didn't think about it till the timeout. We have got ahead of the rate tonight which is good. Pick it up and take it everywhere. Nice to win at home. The crowd was exceptional tonight. A little break and we get into the last two. We start again, chasing has been tougher, but nice to get a win tonight."
