We all aspire to do something out of the box to bring in name and fame. Many of us indulge in sports, music, dance, and other extracurricular activities to do the same, there are people who try to achieve the same by experimenting with new recipes, growing vegetables and spices.

If you don’t believe us, then you need to know about this man from Canada who has recently made it to the Guinness World Records for growing the heaviest Turnip in the world.

Cabinetmaker Damien Allard from Quebec, Canada is a proud owner of three massive-sized turnips (shalgam) - all of which broke the record of being the heaviest turnip in the world

The GWR took to their Twitter handle to share the news and wrote alongside, "He grew three giant turnips, ya dig?"

If we go by the official tweet by Guinness World Records, the first turnip weighed 22.9 kg, the second was of 24.4 kg and the third turnip weighed 29 kg.

Interestingly, the third turnip measured a circumference of 138 cm, height of 35 cm, and was 46 cm wide and you will be surprised to know that all three turnips broke the previous record of 17.7 kg turnip.

A report on the website www.guinessworldrecords.com further read that Damien was working on these turnips for the past year. As per reports, Damien sowed the seeds in 2020 and nourished it for one year and his target was to break his own world record that started in 2016 when he grew a 7kg turnip at home. Later in 2019, he grew a turnip weighing 15.5 kg.
