Did you know that deer shed their antlers? Well, it is a surprising news and the world is shocked too after watching this rare video shared on the internet recently. Deers are private animals and shedding their antlers is an activity that they do when no one’s watching.

The rare video shared starts with deer scratching its head without realising that someone is watching him.

He then scratches himself more and with a sudden noise, he runs away leaving behind his eight-point antlers.

It takes 24-48 hours for the antlers to fall off, but the shedding process starts much earlier. It is between two to three weeks for the process. The regeneration of the new antlers happen throughout the summer. Deer antlers are made up of a honeycomb and a bone-like tissue and are shed because of the growing levels of testosterones which cuts the supply of blood and nutrition through veins and arteries, eventually making them fall off.
