CM's support boosts Avinash Reddy's campaign at Kadapa parliament, but 2024 polls still a litmus test

TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's support and clean chit to YS Avinash Reddy, who has been targeted by the YS sisters including APCC chief YS Sharmila and YS Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Dr Suneetha Narreddy, has boosted the ruling party cadres morale, right ahead of the crucial 2024 general elections .

While the YS sisters have unleashed an onslaught against Avinash Reddy, accusing him of being involved in the sensational YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder, and appealing to the people not to vote for Avinash Reddy in the upcoming elections, Jagan's remarks that Avinash Reddy was in no way linked to the murder and that there were other links to the case, which needs further investigation , has bolstered the mood in Avinash Reddy's camp.

As the Vivekananda Reddy murder case has become a key election issue once again in Kadapa district right before the 2024 elections, the YSRCP was completely on the backfoot, ever since the YSRCP sisters began to point all fingers at Avinash Reddy, at a point of time when he was all set for his hat-trick appearance in the 2024 elections.

Avinash Reddy made his successful electoral debut at the Kadapa parliament in 2014 when he secured a majority of 190323 votes. In the 2019 elections, his majority doubled up to 380726 votes amidst a strong YSRCP wave with the help of which the party came to power in the state.

And by all means, the 2024 elections which presents a triangular contest at the Kadapa parliament, is going to be a litmus test for Avinash Reddy, as he would be facing two formidable opponents in the form of APCC chief YS Sharmila and TDP's Chadipiralla Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy.
