Rang Panchami 2024: Significance

Rang Panchami holds a great religious significance among Hindus. This festival is celebrated after five days of Holi festival, celebrated on Panchami Tithi. Rang Panchami is celebrated as Holi in many parts of India and people play it with colours and Gulal with great enthusiasm and fervor. The festival of Holi culminates with Ranga Panchami and this is also known as Krishna Panchami as it celebrates on Krishna Paksha Panchami Tithi.

This is the festival of colours similar to Holi. Ranga Panchami is the victory of Raja and Tama Guna. This day reminds us of the basic component and lives that have formed everything. People celebrate this day with immense love and care. This day is all about to activate the five basic elements - Agni, means fire, Prithvi, means earth; Jal, which means water; Vayu, means air, and Akash, which means space color of radiant manifest colors and create a pure aura in the surrounding.

Ranga Panchami is celebrated in various Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva temples and a large number of devotees visit these places to have a glimpse of the Lord and seek blessings by offering prayers and colour to the Lord. A traditional Palkhi dance is supposed to be the most enchanting part of the Rang Panchami almost in every corner of the region, mostly by the fishing societies and communities.

Rang Panchami 2024: Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a bath.
2. People offer prayers to Laddoo Gopal Ji, Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva.
3. They offer colors to the Lord and seek blessings.
4. Light a diya in front of the Lord and pray for the well being and good fortune.
5. This is the day when they pray to Lord to remove all types of Raja and Tama Guna from their lives.
6. Raja and Tama Guna can be in any form such as greed, malice, gluttony and attachment to the materialistic world and needs which can be a big hurdle in spiritual path.
