New Zealand, South Africa unveil jerseys for T20 World Cup 2024 - Pics inside

NEW DELHI: New Zealand and South Africa have revealed their jerseys for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup , scheduled to commence on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA.

The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) official handle showcased the jersey on Monday, featuring a colour scheme reminiscent of their 1990s kits.

"The team's kit for the 2024 @T20WorldCup Available at the NZC store from tomorrow. #T20WorldCup," tweeted the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) official handle.

Several players, including Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee , were photographed wearing the jersey. New Zealand's best performance in the T20 World Cup was reaching the final in the 2021 edition held in the UAE, where they were defeated by Australia.

In the upcoming tournament, New Zealand are placed in Group C alongside West Indies, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda. Their opening match is scheduled against Afghanistan on June 7.

South Africa also unveiled their jersey on Sunday, featuring a predominantly yellow colour with the colours of their national flag on the shoulder area. The King Protea, South Africa's national flower, is prominently displayed on the shirt.

South Africa failed to qualify for the semifinals in the previous T20 World Cup, with a surprising loss to the Netherlands eliminating them from the tournament. In the upcoming edition, South Africa are in Group D, along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Nepal. They will face Sri Lanka in their first game on June 3.

New Zealand have also announced their squad for the tournament, with Kane Williamson set to lead the team.
