Sports icons wish the country on Independence Day

NEW DELHI: India celebrated its 73rd Independence Day on Thursday and the country's sporting icons took to social media to wish fellow Indians across the world on the occasion.


Leading the list of sports personalities was cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and India's Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju .

Tendulkar posted a video message along with the caption: "Happy Independence Day to all Indians! Proud of what we’ve achieved in the last 72 years. Let us all Invest in Early Childhood Development .. this can keep our nation healthy, wealthy & happy for generations to come."
