APCC Chief targets Naidu and CM for not completing HNSS works in combined Anantapur district

Andhra Pradesh Congress committee ( APCC ) chief YS Sharmila targeted former Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for their failure in completing the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project works in the combined Anantapur district during their respective regimes.

Addressing impressive roadshows as part of the Andhra Pradesh Nyaya yatra at Madakasira, Singanamala and Uravakonda constituencies in combined Anantapur district on Thursday, Sharmila recalled that even after the completion of 90% works of the HNSS project during her father and former Chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy's tenure itself, both Naidu and Jagan failed to complete the remaining ten percent works during their tenures.

"In the run-up to the 2019 elections, Jagan promised that he will complete this project and fill 127 local tanks with the HNSS waters and subsequently provide assured irrigation water to about one lakh acres of farmland. But even after five years of YSRCP rule, the HNSS project works has not been completed", Sharmila lamented.

The APCC chief also questioned the YSRCP govt about its promise of establishing an industrial corridor here. "Though lands procured during the Congress regime itself was still available, not a single industry set shop in Anantapur district in the last five years. Similarly, the tall claims of the ruling party about establishing a leather park here has also turned out to be a farce", Sharmila rued.

Accusing the TDP and the YSRCP of doing nothing for the development of the state despite pledging tacit support to the BJP at the centre during their respective tenures in govt, Sharmila urged the people to pledge support for the Congress party in the upcoming elections as it is only the Congress party which is committed to uplift the state on all fronts by according Special category status (SCS) for AP for a span of ten years.
