Candidates engage in a show of strength by taking out jumbo rallies as curtains come down on nominations phase in AP

TIRUPATI: Candidates cutting across political lines, engaged themselves in jumbo rallies across the Rayalaseema and Nellore districts, even as the curtains came down in the nominations filing phase in the state on Thursday.

Tirupati urban development authority chairman Chevireddy Mohith Reddy embarked on a mammoth rally before filing his nomination at the Chandragiri assembly constituency on Thursday.
Being just 26 years old, Mohith Reddy is perhaps the youngest candidate among others in the pollfray in the entire state. His father and sitting MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and state tourism minister RK Roja took part in Mohith Reddy's election rally before he filed the nomination.

Meanwhile, tension gripped Chandragiri as the YSRCP and the TDP cadres engaged in stone-pelting act, before being dispersed by the police on ground.

Bharat Yuvajana chaitanya (BCY) party founder Bode Ramachandra Yadav filed nomination at the Punganur assembly constituency in Chittoor district after taking out a massive rally in which more than 40000 people took part. Ramachandra Yadav is contesting at Punganur and at Mangalagiri constituencies.

TDP's Kurnool assembly constituency candidate and industrialist TG Bharat took out a jumbo rally which literally blocked all roads leading to Kurnool on Thursday. Tension of thousands of TDP cadres, holding yellow coloured party flags and festoons, took part in the election rally, as the yellow brigade took the denizens of Kurnool city by surprise.

Several candidates across the Rayalaseema and Nellore districts rushed to file their third and fourth set of nominations on the final day of the nominations phase on Thursday.
