Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has declared the results of its secondary and higher secondary examinations in which overall girls have outshined boys this year.
Declaring the results, school education minister Prem Sai Singh announced that Suman Patel , daughter of Devkumar Patel, and Mamta Patel, resident of Raigarh topped the class 10 examination by securing 98.67 percent.
Kunti Sao, daughter of Parmeshwar Sao and Mongra Sao, who is a resident of Raigarh topped class 12 by securing 98.20 percent being at the first position all over the state.
There are a total of 71 students in the top 10 list in class 10 While class 12 results show that girls this year have outperformed boys this year.
The top five students of class 10 include Sonali Bala, Ashifa Shah, Damini Verma, Jay Prakash Kashyap, and Muskan Agrawal. Besides, the top five students of class 12 include Khushboo Wadhwani, Renuka Chandra, Ritesh Kumar Sahu, Shivam Sao, and Akshay Sharma.
More than 6.5 lakh students appeared for the Board examinations this year. The results have been made available on the official website of the Chhattisgarh Board of secondary education.
Last year's passing percentage of the students of class 10 was 100 percent while the percentage of class 12 was 97.43 percent.
