Class 2 student left locked in school, HM suspended

BULANDSHAHR: A six-year-old Class 2 student of a government school, Sengada Pir in Gulavathi developmental block, in UP's Bulandshahar district was left locked in the classroom on Thursday. Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) BK Sharma said that the headmaster, four teachers, two ' Shiksha Mitras ' have been suspended for negligence. School headmaster Resham Pal said that all the teachers had gone to attend the teachers' union elections at developmental block headquarter, Gulavathi. Sharma said that headmaster Pal did not go with the teachers and stayed in the school, but left before the school closed, leaving the children at the responsibility of the peon. The peon closed the rooms and locked the school and left.

According to locals, the school was shut at around 2:30 pm. But the girl didn't reach home. Her family reached school at around 4 pm and saw the girl standing near the window, crying. The parents informed police. Thereafter, someone informed one of the teacher's. The school was opened and the girl was taken out. The parents have demanded action from the authorities. A video of the girl, Iqra, crying inside the classroom and seeking help has surfaced on social media. In the video, the girl confirms her name as , who is a resident of the village.

CDO Abhishek Pandey said that the matter has come to the notice. Report has been sought from BSA. The entire matter will be thoroughly probed.
