He is among the most active MPs in the Parliament and was chosen to deliver the motion of thanks on the President's address in the house on February 8, 2023. He is yet to officially release his statement on his appointment.

Sources said that he is in Delhi and is likely to visit Jaipur on Sunday.

Poonia tweeted "I am grateful to the party for honouring a worker born in an ordinary farmer's house. They gave me responsibility for three years and during this period I was able to contribute to activating the party with full force on the ground through organizational structure and agitation. I will continue to work as per the instructions of the party for the rest of my life."

Party incharge in the state, Arun Singh tweeted, "Hearty congratulations to the popular simple and soft-spoken MP @cpjoshiBJP of Rajasthan on being nominated as the state president by the central leadership. With your efficient organizational leadership, Rajasthan BJP will expand and the struggle against the misruled Gehlot government of Congress will gain more momentum."
