Mumbai school hosts film festival 2019

MUMBAI: Oberoi International School (OIS) on Monday organized the ' Film Fest 2019 ' where young filmmakers showcased their creativity, talent and passion for writing, directing and producing. The proceeds collected from the film festival will be donated to the "Minds Foundation" for mental health to help eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness and financing high quality care.

Emblematic of this year's theme "Unknown" class XII students of the school planned, organized and executed the event. The jury for the competition's comprised of director, producer and writer, Imtiaz Ali, director of Hitchki and We Are Family, Siddharth Malhotra, and actor Bhupinder Singh.

"With special emphasis given on promoting performing arts, film-making and theatre, a film festival like this encourages young filmmakers to take up a particular area they are keen on. These opportunities for students allow them to become more actively engaged in service-related initiatives within the school, the greater community and the world," said a school representative.
