HYDERABAD: Naveena Balananda Sangham (NBS), which was established to encourage creative talents among children, will celebrate its golden jubilee celebrations with the title Naveena Baalala Swarnotsavamulu 2022. NBS is the first children’s organization started by children, for children and children from Telangana in the state.

The NBS was established on August 15, 1969, at Chikkadapally in Hyderabad. Children from Telangana residing or studying in and around Chikkadapally came together to form a friendly association to foster unity and showcase their inherent creative skills.

The Sangam has been a torch bearer since 1969 in encouraging creative talents among children – initially focusing on kids in the Chikkadpally area. Gradually, it has become very popular among kids and parents in Hyderabad with its activities. It has always been encouraging children to participate in drama, dance, singing, mono action, storytelling & writing, scientific innovations, elocution & debates and many more events helping children imbibe values and make them grow into responsible citizens.

It has many achievements to its credit and won many accolades and awards since its inception. It secured many prestigious events like the All India Children Festival held in 1975, World Telugu Conference 1975, Annual Children Drama competitions conducted by the erstwhile Govt. of AP, YMCA Hyderabad and many more renowned organizations. NBS has been conducting various events and competitions for children in the age group of 5-15 years and awards mementoes and certificates as a part of its annual celebrations.

The founding children of NBS are now senior children over 60 years of age spread across the globe and many of them have become achievers in different walks of life.

As a part of the golden jubilee celebrations, NBS proposed to organize competitions for children (studying in 1st standard to 8th standard) from the city. NBS will conduct competitions without any entry fee for participating children in select creative events (dances-classical & non-classical, singing-classical & non-classical, drawing & painting, fancy dress, quiz & elocution). The winners will be presented with awards at a ceremony to be held on August 28.
