NITIE Alumni made a Generous Contribution towards the Data Science Centre of the Institute
NITIE was established in 1963 by the Government of India to advance transformative education and industry-inspired research, thus helping Indian businesses make their presence felt global. NITIE has proven its mettle in the area of Supply Chain and Logistics time and again with its alumni serving as executives at various international Corporates.
The donation would be utilized in the creation of a Data Science Lab / Center in the institute. The students will have access to the lab and will help them in boosting their knowledge about applying Machine Learning, Data Mining, Deep Learning and Network Analysis of real-world problems in society and industry. It will facilitate database designing and management through dedicated tools such as Oracle, MySQL, Cloud Computing and Distributed Computing paradigms, and provide computing platform knowledge of novel languages like Python, R, and OpenCV.
This center will help NITIE to collaborate with organizations and work on real world problems through live projects thereby ensuring more industry-academia connect. With this data science lab, the institute also plans to provide opportunities to young minds to collaborate and co-create solutions under the guidance of NITIE faculty across various domains. NITIE plans to promote budding entrepreneurs and incubate start-ups in the field of data science and its applications. The institute has plans to onboard one or two start-ups initially but expects the number of start-ups to increase subsequently.
NITIE has year on year given brilliant professionals to the corporate world. With the ongoing enhancements in the institute and several projects in line, the institute has plans to build diverse leaders in several domains. With this new initiative, NITIE has a vision to foster industry and institute partnership to solve emerging issues in functional areas of logistic, Supply Chain Management, FinTech, Marketing, OBHR, Sustainability, etc. NITIE aims to educate and train practicing executives, thereby increasing the pool of data science professionals and developing future industry leaders in areas of Analytics and its role in solving futuristic problems.
