Udupi Chikmagalur Constituency of Karnataka Lok Sabha Election 2024: Date of voting, result, candidates list, main parties, schedule

NEW DELHI: Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency came into existence in 2008 as a result of the delimitation process, which was initiated following the suggestions of the Delimitation Commission of India formed in 2002. The region is part of the larger democratic framework of India.

On April 26 (Phase 2), the electorate of Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency will exercise their voting rights in the 2024 Election, following the declaration made by the Election Commission of India on March 16.

June 4 marks the day when the results of the Lok Sabha election 2024 will be officially declared after the counting process.

In the current year of 2024, voters are displaying heightened enthusiasm to exercise their democratic right. The 2024 candidates list for Udupi Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency includes Kota Srinivas Poojary from Bharatiya Janata Party and Jayaprakash Hegde from Indian National Congress, both emerging as key contenders in the electoral race.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections , Shobha Karandlaje, the BJP candidate, emerged victorious in Udupi Chikmagalur with a total of 718916 votes. The BJP outperformed JD(S) Pramod Madhwaraj, who secured 369317 votes, leading to the BJP's victory with a majority of 62 percent.

Back in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje clinched victory in Udupi Chikmagalur with an impressive count of 718916 votes. The BJP triumphed over JD(S) candidate Pramod Madhwaraj, who received votes from the JD(S) party, resulting in Shobha Karandlaje securing 349599 percent of the votes.
