Kiwi player Brendon McCullum becomes the head coach of this IPL team

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have got a new head coach. The head coach of this team, which has won two IPL titles, will be headed by former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum.
The Kolkata franchise on Thursday announced him to be the head coach. McCullum will be the fifth head coach of KKR.

McCullum, 37, played from Kolkata in the first season of the IPL. He played an unbeaten 158 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), playing for Kolkata in the first match of the IPL (April 2008). McCullum has also joined the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) team Trinibago Knight Riders. He was also a part of the team from 2016 to 2018.

McCullum said after being elected the head coach, 'It is a great honor for me to fulfill this responsibility. Knight Riders and CPL franchise is one of the great teams in cricket. We have a very good team as KKR and TKR and we want to make both of them successful.

Kolkata Knight Riders CEO Vanki Mysore said, 'Brendan has been a member of the Knight Riders family for a long time. Due to his leadership ability, quality, honesty and positive thinking, he is eligible to be selected as the head coach of the team. It is noteworthy that after John Buchanan, Dave Whitmore, Trevor Bellis, Jack Kallis, Brendon McCullum has been given the responsibility of KKR coach post.
