Ranveer Singh Deepfake Video: Actor Files FIR After AI-Generated Political Clip Goes Viral

Days after a couple of Bollywood actors including Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and more fell prey to the deepfake technology - Ranveer Singh became the latest victim of the AI tech. Recently, the Bajirao Mastaani actor responded on social media to his Deepfake video endorsing a political party making the rounds online.

According to recent reports, the Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl actor has filed a formal complaint against the AI-generated video. The complaint has been forwarded to the Cyber Crime Cell for additional investigation.

Ranveer Singh's Spokesperson Issues Official StatementRanveer Singh, Kriti Sanon, and Manish Malhotra recently travelled to Varanasi for a fashion show. He was seen endorsing a political party in a video that went viral. Though the audio is that of an actor's AI-enabled voice clone, the video appears authentic.

According to Ranveer Singh's official spokesperson, a police complaint has been filed regarding the creation and dissemination of the Deepfake video. An FIR has been filed, and the Cyber Crime Cell will conduct an additional investigation into the matter.
Issuing an official statement, the spokesperson said, “Yes, we have filed the police complaint and an FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated Deepfake video of Mr. Ranveer Singh.”.


Ranveer Reacts To Viral Deepfake Video Promoting Political Party

Ranveer Singh, who recently fell victim to Deepfake AI, responded to his fake video endorsing a political party on his Instagram account a while back. He typed in capital letters on his Instagram Story, "Deepfake se bacho dostonnnn (skull emoji).”

Aamir Khan's Deepfake video endorsing a political party in an advertisement campaign was going viral prior to Ranveer Singh. Following this, a representative for the actor released an official statement, writing, “As per the official statement received from the spokesperson of the actor, it is said that the PK actor has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising public awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections.” He, too, filed an FIR against the video.
