Salman Khan House Firing Incident: Accused Who Attempted Suicide In Jail Dies In Hospital

Anuj Thapan, one of the accused in the firing case outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments on April 14 was declared dead by doctors after he attempted suicide in police custody, Mumbai Police said. As per a report in ANI, the accused was taken to the hospital after he attempted suicide and was declared dead. Anuj Thapan was accused of providing weapons to the shooters who opened fire at Salman Khan's residence in the wee hours of Sunday.


Accused In Salman Khan's House Firing Case DeadThe accused hanged himself inside the toilet of the lock-up using a bedsheet. He was rushed to the state-run GT Hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment. The news agency ANI posted a tweet in which it reported about the attempt to suicide by the accused. The tweet reads, "Salman Khan residence firing case | Accused Anuj Thapan arrested in the case tried to commit suicide in custody. He was rushed to a nearby hospital: Mumbai Police."


The next post on X confirmed that the accused was declared dead by the doctors at the hospital. "Salman Khan residence firing case | Accused Anuj Thapan who attempted suicide in custody has been declared dead by doctors at the hospital: Mumbai Police."

About Salman Khan House Firing IncidentAccording to sources to News18, the police will look into what motivated Thapan to act in such a drastic manner. Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the other two people who are reportedly responsible for the gunshots outside Salman's house, are being held by the police. When they were seen on CCTV leaving the area on a motorcycle the night the incident occurred, they were taken into custody.

It was known that the accused in the firing case had ties to the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was incarcerated. Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, took credit for the attack shortly after it happened in a Facebook post.
