Veteran screenwriter Aaroor Dass passes away at the age of 91

Veteran screenwriter Aaroor Dass has passed away. He breathed his last on November 20 in Chennai. Many celebrities from Kollywood and fans have been paying their last respects to him. He was 91 years old.

Aaroor Dass worked in over 1,000 films. He was seen mostly in Tamil Cinema. He was born as Yesudas in Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu.

He had changed his name later. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin spoke about Aaroor Dass' demise.

He spoke about it in a statement and said, "He captured the hearts of the public through his dialogues in Pasamalar. I had the honour of handing over the Kalaignar Kalaithurai Vithagar Award to the veteran screenwriter at his residence in T. Nagar earlier this year."

Aaroor Dass' career
Aaroor Dass started his drama troupe and worked on writing plays at the age of 16. He entered the film industry as a dubbing assistant and then wrote dialogues for the dubbed version of the Hindi film, Qaidi
. Gemini Ganesan and Saroja Devi's Vaazha Vaitha Deivam were his debut project as a full-fledged story and dialogue writer.

He has worked with big stars like MGR AKA MG Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan. He is known for films like Thaai Sollai Thattadhe, Paarthal Pasi Theerum, Vettai Kaaran, Deivamagan and Penn Endral Penn.
