Kia India has entered the mainstream electric vehicle market with the launch of the all-new Clavis EV, a feature-loaded MPV designed for the Indian family buyer. Priced from ₹17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Clavis EV comes in four variants and offers two battery options, making it a significant step forward for Kia's electric ambitions in the country. The MPV promises a comfortable seven-seat configuration, practical storage, and technology that enhances both safety and convenience.
The dashboard adopts a floating design with practical touches like a sliding centre console and cupholders. Front seats have map lamps, and the cabin includes multiple USB Type-C ports for device charging. Even the entry variant offers a 12.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and a matching digital driver's display.
Distinct Styling With Electric Touches
While the Clavis EV shares its design DNA with its petrol counterpart, it receives some thoughtful EV-specific updates. The front bumper is slightly restyled with active aero flaps to improve aerodynamic efficiency, while the charging port is now positioned at the front. It also sports a silver-finished lower bumper, new ice-cube-style LED fog lamps, and a useful 25-litre frunk (front trunk). Inside, the Clavis EV maintains a dual-tone black and beige colour scheme with a combination of fabric and leatherette upholstery. The HTK+ is the base model and comes equipped with a 42kWh battery pack. It includes LED headlights and tail-lamps, LED DRLs that double up as indicators, active aero elements, gloss-black 16-inch alloy wheels, and metal-finished front and rear skid plates. It also features keyless entry with remote start, electronically foldable mirrors, and a smart key with motion sensors. The infotainment and climate control systems are operated via a sleek touch panel.
