Maruti, Tata, Mahindra To Clash! 6 New SUVs Launching In The Coming Weeks

The Indian automobile market is headed for a high-voltage few weeks. Major carmakers – Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Kia – are preparing to launch some of their most anticipated SUVs.

The action begins with Tata Sierra (ICE) making its long-awaited comeback on November 25. Soon after, Mahindra will reveal the XEV 9S, a 7-seater electric SUV, on November 27, 2025

On December 2, Maruti Suzuki will enter the EV space with its first all-electric model, the eVitara. This will be followed by the launch of the Tata Harrier and Safari petrol variants on December 9. The global debut of the next-generation Kia Seltos is scheduled for December 10, 2025.

Here’s a quick look at all the upcoming launches:

Tata Sierra (ICE)
The Sierra will return in petrol and diesel

options first, with the electric variant expected in early 2026. Expected engine options include Tata’s new 1.5-liter NA petrol, 1.5-liter turbo petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel. The SUV will come loaded with updated tech and premium features, keeping it in line with Tata’s latest offerings.

Mahindra XEV 9S
The XEV 9S is the all-electric version of the XUV700. It shares its platform, design language, and several components with the XEV 9e. Teasers reveal highlights like:

• Triple-screen dashboard layout
• Two-spoke leather steering wheel
• Panoramic sunroof
• Sliding second-row seats
• Updated gear selector

Maruti eVitara
Maruti’s first electric car for India will offer two battery pack options:
• 49 kWh (FWD) – approx. 344 km range
• 61 kWh (FWD) – approx. 428 km range
• 61 kWh (AWD) – approx. 394 km range

The AWD setup will be limited to the larger battery variant, while all others will come with a single-motor FWD layout.

Tata Harrier & Safari Petrol
After the Sierra, Tata will roll out the long-awaited petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari. Both SUVs will get a 1.5-liter TGDi petrol engine delivering 170 PS and 280 Nm. There are no major design or feature changes expected in these variants.

New Kia Seltos (Next-Gen)
The next-generation Seltos will make its global debut in mid-December 2025. While engine options will remain the same, Kia is expected to introduce major design upgrades and feature enhancements. Reports suggest the 1.5-liter diesel model

could get a new 7-speed automatic gearbox, alongside the existing manual and automatic options.
