Yamaha Celebrates 70 Years with Two Exciting Launches: XSR155 Neo-Retro Roadster and FZ Rev Streetfighter

Marking its 70th anniversary, Yamaha Motor India has announced two new motorcycles — the XSR155 and the FZ Rev — as part of its 2025-26 product roadmap. The unveiling took place in Mumbai, where Yamaha also outlined plans to introduce 10 new models in India by the end of 2026, including two electric scooters that will mark the brand’s entry into the EV segment.

Yamaha XSR155: A Blend of Retro Charm and Modern Performance

The Yamaha XSR155, priced at ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom), brings together vintage-inspired styling with modern engineering. Based on the R15 V4 platform, this neo-retro roadster draws design cues from the larger XSR models.

The motorcycle features a round LED headlamp and taillamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank

, and a single-piece scrambler-style seat. It also includes tall handlebars for a relaxed riding stance and an LCD instrument cluster. The exposed 155cc single-cylinder engine and slightly upturned exhaust give it a rugged, old-school appeal.

Color options: Metallic Grey, Graying Green Metallic, Metallic Blue, and Vivid Red.

Engine and Performance

Powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine

, the XSR155 produces 18.1 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts.

The bike is built on Yamaha’s Deltabox frame, supported by USD front forks and a rear monoshock suspension. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

The FZ Rev

is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It also uses the Deltabox frame, with telescopic front forks and a rear shock absorber ensuring a stable ride.
