Chhattisgarh Horror: 4-Year-Old Hung From a Tree by Teachers for Not Completing Homework, Video Goes Viral
A disturbing case of corporal punishment from Surajpur, Chhattisgarh, has sparked anger across social media. A four-year-old LKG student was allegedly tied with a rope and hung from a tree by two women teachers for not completing his homework.
The incident took place in Narayanpur village at a private school, where teachers Kajal Sahu and Anuradha Dewangan reportedly used this extreme form of punishment. The truth came to light only after a young man standing on a nearby rooftop recorded the horrifying act and uploaded the video online.
The video shows the child hanging by a rope tied to his shirt while the teachers, instead of stopping the act, attempted to prevent the recording. Once the clip went viral, residents in the area widely circulated it, demanding immediate action.
Following the uproar, Sankul-in-charge Manoj Yadav rushed to the school for an inspection. Calling the teachers’ behaviour “completely wrong,” he confirmed that a detailed report has been sent to senior district officials for further action.
Though the child is physically safe now, his parents remain deeply shaken. “It could have been life-threatening,” they said, questioning the safety and mindset of those entrusted with teaching young children.
Santosh Sahu, a relative of the child, confirmed that the family is preparing to file a formal complaint. “If a child is punished like this for homework, what else can happen in this school?” he asked.
As the inquiry continues, the education department has not yet released an official statement, but public demand for strict action is growing by the hour.
