Kolkata Police reinstates constable
Kolkata: A Kolkata Police constable, with an experience of working in the force for the past 23 years, was suspended earlier on April 27 for allegedly expressing his political views, for expressing his political views and "sharing content on social media that can disturb communal harmony", has been asked to rejoin work.
Lalbazar lifted the suspension of Ramkrishna Koyal , a constable from the Kolkata Police's first battalion, through a written directive regarding this on Friday.
Before the state elections, Koyal criticised Trinamool Congress-influenced welfare activities by making a reel on social media while in uniform. He also accused the Kolkata Police of "Islamisation". The reel went viral across the state. To avoid controversy, Lalbazar quickly suspended the constable. Now, with the elections over, they have lifted the suspension.
Cops said that his place of joining will be informed soon as his departmental enquiry will be completed
