‘Badtameezi Mat Karo’: Jaya Bachchan’s Paparazzi Moment Goes Viral - Watch
Actor and MP Jaya Bachchan’s long-standing tension with the Mumbai paparazzi made headlines again on Thursday evening at the Abu Jani–Sandeep Khosla fashion show. Arriving with her daughter Shweta Bachchan, she was immediately surrounded by photographers eager for close-up shots. Irritated by the sudden chaos, she firmly instructed them, “Enough, move,” as Shweta gently guided her inside.
Another video from the event quickly went viral, capturing Jaya Bachchan addressing the noisy crowd of photographers with a sharp rebuke: “Aap log photo lo, badtameezi mat karo. Chup raho, munh band rakho, photo lo. Upar se comments karte rahte ho.” Her words once again highlighted her discomfort with intrusive behaviour.
This reaction isn’t new. Jaya Bachchan has frequently expressed her dislike for aggressive photography and crowding. Over the years, she has had several run-ins with paparazzi, making her boundaries clear whenever she feels they’re crossed.
She has openly discussed this on granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast, where she shared her frustration with invasive shutterbugs. “I hate it. I despise it. I despise the people who interfere in your personal life and fill their stomachs by selling those products,” she had said, adding that she often questions them, “Aapko sharam nahi aati hai?”
Her candid reactions have gone viral before too. In an older clip, after a photographer tripped while trying to capture her, she bluntly commented, “Serves you right. I hope you double up and fall.”
Yet, it’s not always serious. There have been lighter moments like during the Durga Puja celebrations at the Mukerjis’ pandal earlier this year, when Kajol playfully encouraged her to pose. The crowd cheered, Jaya Bachchan laughed, and Kajol teased her to “say thank you.”
On the professional front, she was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
