Petrol, Diesel And LPG Stocks Secure As Government Takes Preventive Step
The government has reassured citizens that the country has sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, LPG and essential commodities despite ongoing tensions in West Asia affecting global oil trade routes. Officials stated that proactive measures have been taken to secure energy supplies and maintain smooth distribution networks across the country.
During a high-level review involving multiple ministries, authorities assessed the availability of key resources, the status of supply chains and preparedness across critical sectors. The review concluded that essential goods remain readily available and supply operations are functioning without disruption.
Officials emphasised that these arrangements are helping maintain uninterrupted fuel availability across the country. The government's focus remains on ensuring that consumers and businesses do not face shortages as global trade patterns continue to evolve.
Energy security remains a key priority, particularly at a time when international markets are experiencing fluctuations caused by regional tensions.

Officials also noted that domestic LPG continues to be supplied at subsidised rates despite the financial burden associated with rising costs.
In addition, beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme will continue receiving financial support on eligible LPG cylinder purchases. Under the existing arrangement, eligible households can receive a subsidy of ₹300 per cylinder for up to four cylinders.
The continuation of this support is expected to benefit millions of families by helping reduce household energy expenses and improving access to cleaner cooking fuel.
The estimated fertiliser requirement for the upcoming season is around 383.9 lakh metric tonnes. To support this demand, a stock of 197.56 lakh metric tonnes is already available.
Officials indicated that both domestic production and imports are progressing as planned. This is expected to ensure timely availability of fertilisers for farmers during the crucial sowing period.
The government stressed that there is no reason for concern regarding fertiliser supplies, as adequate inventories have been maintained and replenishment efforts continue.
