Celebrating childhood: Gauri Shelgaonkar and Aanandita Sahoo share heartwarming children's day memories
Children’s Day isn’t just for kids, it’s a reminder for everyone to cherish the innocence, laughter, and wonder that childhood brings. As the world celebrates this joyful day filled with nostalgia and warmth, actors Gauri Shelgaonkar and Aanandita Sahoo take a heartfelt trip down memory lane, recalling the small yet magical moments that shaped their early years.

Aanandita Sahoo, who plays Satyaa in Satyaa Sachee, shared her fondest childhood memories with a sense of overflowing warmth. She reflects, “Children’s Day takes me back to my carefree childhood running barefoot in the rain, climbing guava trees with my cousins, and laughing endlessly in the village playground.” These simple moments, she says, defined pure joy. Aanandita believes that keeping the inner child alive is essential. “Even today, I try to keep that child within me alive by enjoying little things like an ice cream treat or a sunset,” she adds.
Talking about her plans for the special day, she reveals a thoughtful surprise. “This year, on the sets of Satyaa Sachee, I’m planning to bring nostalgic treats old-school toffees, chocolates and snacks so that my co-actors and I can relive those beautiful childhood memories together.”
Gauri Shelgaonkar, who plays Ghevar in Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri : Beendani, shared an equally heartwarming recollection. “Children’s Day was always one of the most fun and exciting days of the year! It was that one day when we actually loved going to school because there were no studies at all,” she laughs. From playing games and singing songs to sharing snacks with friends, she remembers the day as a celebration of freedom. “Teachers were extra sweet—no scolding, no homework, just smiles all around! Those little joys made childhood so beautiful and carefree.”
This year, Gauri and her team plan to recreate that cheerful spirit. “On the sets of Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, we’re planning to celebrate by cutting a cake and reliving that childlike happiness together.”
As both actors beautifully express, Children’s Day is a gentle reminder to pause, smile, and reconnect with the joy of being a child, no matter how old we grow.
