Kaal Bhairav Jayanti 2025: Significance
Kaal Bhairav Jayanti is the most prominent Hindu festival which is devoted to Lord Kaal Bhairav, the fierce form of Lord Shiva. The day is celebrated as Kaal Bhairav Jayanti to commemorate the birth anniversary of Kaal Bhairav. He is usually depicted as holding a rod in his hand to punish the people who do sinful acts and he mounts on Dog. Devotees offer prayers to hi with full devotion and purity. He is known by many names, Danda Pani, Kshetrapaal and Kashi ke Kotwal. He is also known as the God of Karma and Justice as he give rewards and punishments according to their person's Karma. On this auspicious day, devotees visit Kaal Bhairav temple and worship him. He is known as the protector of all the temple of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
It is said that people who are facing negativity issues, suffering from black magic and attacked by evil spirits should definitely worship Lord Kaal Bhairav to get rid of all these problems. Kaal Bhairav Ashtami 2025: Story
As per Hindu Scriptures, once Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma engaged in a debate about, who is greater and most powerful. The debate turned into an argument, so Lord Shiva had to step in and mediate a resolution, which Lord Brahma rejected. He declared that he was greater and more potent than all other gods and that he possessed five heads.
After hearing this argument, Lord Shiva became enraged and took the form of Kaal Bhairav, who originated from Lord Shiva's forehead and cut one of Brahma's heads. After Lord Brahma realized his mistake and expressed regret, all the gods asked Lord Shiva to return to his original form.

There are eight forms of Bhairav mentioned in the Hindu Scriptures and here are the following names of Ashta Bhairav:
