Watch: Ravindra Jadeja Trolls Shardul Thakur in Hilarious Banter After No-Ball Twist in MI vs RR

Newspoint

Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur hogged the limelight with some good-humored banter during the IPL 2026 clash between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai.

The scene unfolded during the final over of Rajasthan Royals' innings, where Shardul looked like he had got Jadeja with a slower delivery, angled down the off side. Mistimed by Jadeja, he was caught at cover, and the fast bowler quickly celebrated with a fist pump and a mock roar at the RR all-rounder.

But it wasn't for long.

No Ball Turns it All Around

A fraction of seconds after the wicket, a loud siren boomed, and the on-field umpire indicated a no ball by overstepping. Jadeja got a lifeline, as his wicket was disallowed.

The ensuing sight left the viewers watching the high-voltage encounter in splits. Jadeja turned back to Shardul and mirrored his fist-pump and a similar roar, sharing a funny exchange with the man who has shared a dressing room with him both for India and Chennai Super Kings over the years.

Jadeja Makes Most of Second Chance

Jadeja capitalized on the extra life given to him. He first dispatched the free-hit over mid-wicket for a boundary and then through the covers for another four off the very next ball.

He finished unbeaten at 19 off 11 balls, scoring 3 boundaries with a strike rate of 172.73. His quickfire cameo allowed Rajasthan Royals to touch the 200-run mark, eventually finishing at 205/8 after 20 overs.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal 27 off 17 balls while Dhruv Jurel finished with 38 runs. Jofra Archer also chipped in with a destructive 32 off just 15 deliveries.

Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar both took two wickets each for Mumbai Indians. While it was an expensive over, the Jadeja-Shardul moment provided one of the best entertainments of the match and the fans will not forget the chemistry shared between the two.
