Elon Musk Warns: AI Will Soon Outpace Traditional Media With Real-Time Movies and Podcast

In a nearly two-hour-long Elon Musk podcast appearance on Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath’s YouTube channel People by WTF, the Tesla CEO opened up about the future of AI, media, and the growing value of real human interaction. The episode, titled “Elon Musk: A Different Conversation w/ Nikhil Kamath,” explored everything from consciousness and work to family, money and the evolving entertainment industry—making it one of Musk’s most wide-ranging conversations yet.

When discussing the future of AI in media, Musk shared bold predictions. He believes that movies, games, and podcasts will be “overwhelmingly AI-generated” in the years ahead. According to him, AI-powered real-time video generation and next-gen gaming experiences are set to reshape entertainment. Musk praised the progress made by xAI and other emerging tools, noting that AI can now mimic deeply human emotions and complex personalities—marking a major shift in AI-generated content and the overall future of entertainment.

During the Nikhil Kamath interview, the conversation shifted to the growing popularity of real-world experiences. Kamath highlighted how audiences are returning to concerts, shows, and human-centric events. Musk agreed, pointing out that as digital content becomes ubiquitous and practically free—especially in an era dominated by AI-generated content—live events become rare and irreplaceable. This scarcity, he said, makes them far more valuable in the long run, adding a new dimension to the future of the entertainment industry.

When asked whether these live experiences could become premium investment opportunities, the Tesla and SpaceX founder didn’t hesitate. Musk said that in a world saturated with algorithm-driven digital entertainment, the value of live human experiences will surge. The combination of scarcity and demand could make them one of the strongest areas for future investment as AI continues to expand its presence in media.

The podcast also delivered a personal surprise. In a candid moment, Musk revealed an unexpected India connection. He shared that his partner, Shivon Zilis—Neuralink’s director of operations and special projects—is “half-Indian.” Kamath reacted with visible surprise, but Musk had one more revelation. One of his children with Zilis carries the middle name “Sekhar,” a heartfelt tribute to iconic Indian astrophysicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. “One of my sons with her, his middle name is Sekhar, after Chandrasekhar,” Musk said during the Elon Musk podcast, adding a touching cultural note to the wide-ranging discussion.
