PS Plus gamers hit out at GTA 5 'scam' as service reveals new additions
Sony has announced its latest PS Plus game catalog updates, with nine games arriving on the service later this month.
Unfortunately, however, not everybody is happy about the next batch of games, including one subscriber who feels they've been “scammed” by Sony, largely due to the fact that Grand Theft Auto 5 is joining the service for what feels like the hundredth time.

Here's what's joining GTA 5 in the PS Plus Extra and Premium line-up for November on PlayStation:
- Tomb Raider: Anniversary (Premium only - PS5, PS4)
- Pacific Drive (PS5)
- Still Wakes the Deep (PS5)
- Insurgency: Sandstorm (PS5, PS4)
- Thank Goodness You’re Here! (PS5, PS4)
- The Talos Principle 2 (PS5)
- Monster Jam Showdown (PS5, PS4)
- MotoGP 25 (PS5 PS4)
Sony made the announcement in a blog, writing: “This month, dive into the criminal underworld of Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V, take a ride through a surreal and wild Pacific Northwest in Pacific Drive, or struggle for survival on an unstable oil rig in Still Wakes the Deep.
“All these titles and more are available in November’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: Anniversary brings Lara’s original adventure to PlayStation Plus Premium.”
As if to rub salt into the wounds for GTA fans, all of the games - including GTA 5 - will arrive on November 18. That’s one year ahead of GTA 6’s latest planned release date.
GTA 5 takes centre stage in the new PS Plus line-up. But fans are unhappy that it’s been removed and re-added to the service several times since its release back in 2013.
One user on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “Is GTAV just going to recycle in and out now then until the end of time?” Another said: “I feel scammed every month.”
A third added: “We're paying for Premium to constantly add and remove the same game? Leave it be there and every month add something new, for a change!”
It wasn’t all negative reaction, however. Some were excited about the other titles added to PS Plus.
Another gamer said: “We've had GTA 5 before BUT not a bad lineup tbh!”
Finally, one user added: “Play Still Wakes the Deep if you haven’t already, you will not be disappointed.”
