Mamata Alleges EVM Rigging, Vote Looting As BJP Wins Falta Repoll; Says INDIA Bloc May Meet In June
Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee alleged large-scale EVM rigging and vote-looting in the Falta assembly constituency after BJP candidate Debangshu Pande secured a landslide victory by over one lakh votes. Banerjee claimed that Trinamool Congress workers were removed from counting centres and denied access after 11 am, while BJP workers and CRPF personnel entered freely. She accused the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP and alleged data hacking during the counting process. Banerjee also criticised the Special Intensive Revision exercise, claiming lakhs of voters were removed from electoral rolls. Calling the situation “state terrorism,” she vowed to continue a legal battle and questioned whether constitutional democracy or political force would ultimately prevail in the country.
