Terrifying Video Shows Mercedes Taking Flight After Driver Loses Consciousness

A shocking road accident in Romania has left viewers stunned after a speeding Mercedes was caught on camera flying over vehicles before crashing dangerously close to a petrol station. The dramatic incident, which took place on December 3 in the city of Oradea, has since gone viral across social media, earning the nickname “Air Mercedes”.

CCTV footage shows the car entering a roundabout from the wrong side at high speed. Moments later, it hit the kerb and was launched several feet into the air, soaring over a bus and two cars waiting ahead. The vehicle narrowly missed a road surveillance camera before slamming into a metal pole just metres away from a fuel station, avoiding what could have been a massive explosion.

Police later revealed that the driver, a 55-year-old man, had suffered a severe diabetic episode and fainted while driving. After losing consciousness, he lost control of the car, leading to the terrifying sequence of events. Residents living nearby said they heard a loud crash that shook the area as the car landed.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and pulled the driver from the mangled vehicle. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors confirmed he had multiple fractures but no life-threatening injuries a survival many have described as nothing short of miraculous.


Authorities have suspended the driver’s licence for 90 days and fined him 1,600 Romanian leu (approximately Rs 27,000). Police are continuing to investigate the incident as the viral video sparks global discussions on road safety and medical emergencies behind the wheel.
